The Deep Dark Woods Anthology

What could be lurking in the deep, dark woods? It’s up to you to find out!

Submissions are now open for the Deep, Dark Woods anthology.

The editors are seeking well-crafted, original horror stories themed around the Deep, Dark Woods. The editors don’t mind if your story is scary, diabolical, suspenseful thriller, psychological horror, supernatural, based around a moral theme, or straight-up gory splatterpunk intended to shock readers. It’s up to you.

The key to getting accepted into the anthology is to be sure your story is well-crafted and has an impact in some way, whether that’s a clever ending, a solid hook or memorable characters.

Quick tip from the editor: It might help writers to read a copy of a previous anthology to get a feel for what type of style and tone the editors like.

Stories should be between 500 and 8,000 words. Longer stories may be considered based on merit. No reprints will be considered.

Email submissions are accepted, but all stories must be formatted according to the publisher’s guidelines.

The publishers obtain first publications rights to your story in both print and digital format.

Payment is 5 cents per word, plus one contributor copy.

Submissions close May 31st,  2015
